As the name implies, water-based fire retardant paint is to water as the medium of paint. For example, our internal and external wall coatings, metal coatings, automotive coatings, etc., all have corresponding water-based coatings products. First, the characteristics of water-based fire retardant paint
1. Avoid freezing during storage and transportation;
2. In order to obtain construction and drying performance, atmospheric temperature and base temperature should be greater than 10 (50), and relative humidity should be less than 80%;
3. In order to improve drying and recoating characteristics and speed up construction, good ventilation should be maintained. If the temperature is below 10(50) or the relative humidity is above 80%, the drying of the coating will be delayed and the recoating interval will be extended. The surface temperature is at least 3 degrees Celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit) above the dew point;
4. Construction should not be carried out when conditions deteriorate, such as temperature drops or water vapour may condense. Airless spraying is a method to construct coating to obtain film thickness.
Two, water-based fire retardant paint construction method
Scraping method: use metal or nonmetal scraper, such as hard rubber plate, glass fiber reinforced plastic scraper, horn scraper, etc. All kinds of thick stick fire retardant paint and putty should be scraped by hand.
Roll coating: The roll is a hollow cylinder with a small diameter and a long nap of synthetic fiber attached to the surface. Two gaskets are mounted at each end of the cylinder, with a hole in the middle through which the curved handle passes. To use, the roller is dipped in paint and then rolled to the desired surface. Develop roller coating unit with air compressor for conveying paint.
Besmear brush method: apply to any shape of the object besmear brush, most fire retardant coating can be so besmear brush. Brush coating can easily penetrate into the pores of the metal surface, thus enhancing the adhesion to the metal surface. Disadvantages are low production efficiency, labor intensity, and sometimes leave brush marks on the surface of the coating, affecting the decoration of the coating.
Spraying method: the construction method of atomizing paint with compressed air and spray gun, which is characterized by uniform coating quality and high production efficiency. The disadvantage is that part of the paint will be lost, at the same time due to a large amount of solvent evaporation, affecting the health of the operator. The key equipment of air spraying is spray gun.
Spray guns are usually divided into three types according to the method of coating supply: gravity, suction and pressure delivery, and also into small and large according to the spraying capacity. Paint viscosity is high, high pressure requirements, should choose large diameter nozzle; Paint viscosity is low, the required pressure is small, nozzle can be small diameter. The air pressure of air spraying is generally 0.3~ 0.6mpa.
